ERROR // ist a thesis performance

ERROR // ist is a trap. It exists in the wrongness between knowing and sensing. The storytelling here offers a space to celebrate the errors of ourselves. Through movement, vocalization, and pretend, ERROR // ist attempts to resist genre/gentrification of creative practice. The pieces themselves have been created in conjunction with a whole team of creators, ancestors, guides, enemies, and mentors. In its barest form, I offer you a movement based thesis that hosts subversive and love oriented storytelling – in all its dis/respect, breakage, bonding, and beauty.

Gratitude
Pallavi Sriram, for her guidance, support, patience, and pep talks when it felt like the world was ending. And for her care and commitment to me learning my body and creative process.
Najnin Islam, for her encouragement, intellectual herding, and humor in helping me conceive the grounds for this performance.
Nadia Guessous, for her care, guardianship, and kinship in pushing me to measure success not by arbitrary capital, but by love.
Yogesh Chandrani, for his understanding, teachings, and kindness with me, especially when I’ve disappeared off the face of this Earth.
Jennifer DeDominici, for her enthusiasm, talent, and tutelage to help me understand the movements and colors of my voice.
Yumiko Gonzalez Rios, for their unwavering support, care, and assistance throughout my last moments of my undergrad career.
Pralad Mishra, for being my absolute improvisational rock while realizing this performance. I could not have pulled this off without him.
More special thanks to Aaron Stoller, the IDM program, Theatre Workshop, Ankita Sharma, Rui Zhou, Lucy MacGowan, LaNiah Moon, my mother, and my community, which has been the inspiration for all this work.
